On Friday, April 30th 60 people came together at The FIRST Changent Circle. From this gathering, each individual contributed a word or key phrase when we asked, “In your mind’s eye, call forward an image of Earth’s natural world with a sense of love and appreciation. What is the first thing that comes to mind?” This creative exploration brought forth At First Sight. Enjoy!
At First Sight
Grand Canyon
Lush forests
Sunbeams through forest leaves
Baby geese
Spring flowers
Clean, sparkling water
Peace
Weeping willow
Tree
Cormorants
Mountains
Loons
Songbirds
Wind
Quiet peacefulness
Ocean tides
Sparkling rivers
Fertile fields
Smell of ferns
In the forest
Free-flowing water
In the open seas
River stream
Next to a grain field
Rippling waters
In a lake
Open ocean
Calm blue waters
Sparkling waters
Waterfall
Tree
Forest
Trees
Wind
Trees with light trickling down through the boughs
Wind bent branches
A hawk swooping off a pine tree
Geese flying together in a sunset sky
Red cardinal flying to top green branches-
Strutting and singing to all
My dog
Balance
Roots on a rock
Green, breeze, waves, blue
Openness, space, oasis
Trees
The tiny peeps of the new buds
Poking through the newly thawed ground
Forest with river
Running through
With mountains in the background
A grand waterfall,
Lush forest surrounding it
And animals all around
Wide open vast oceans
Beauty in the drop of rain
Bulrushes against a sunset
Fawn
At First Sight is a collective poem created by all the participants of The FIRST Changent Circle, “Seeds of Change” on April 30, 2021. (Titled and arranged by Tanya Porter)
I can feel the wind moving through this piece, and the water rushing. Beautiful. Thank you!
Thank you, Vicki! That means so much coming from a wonderful poet like you <3
